[LS Pathfinder] When the Story Changes

Dear Storytellers & Pathfinders,

I sit here with this issue from a place that I just can’t describe. A mental state. An emotional place.

I nearly titled this, “Strap in and hold on! It’s going to be quite a ride!”

I’m further along on the journey that I mentioned last week - the flood gates have definitely opened and it’s a process that I continue to get aha’s and more clarity every day on this journey.

Ever feel like God’s about to do something big in your life? All of those exciting feelings about all the possibilities that might be in store? With maybe just a dash of fear mixed in for good measure?

He’s making some big moves in my life that I probably need - but quite frankly in the most recent thing to show up, it’s been a tough thing to accept. But I am also grateful in a way. I believe with everything that God is working this out because it needs to go this way. And while I don’t like it, I’m at peace with it. And the timing isn’t coincidental .. my closest, most beloved friend is moving far away. More than likely will be moving while I’m immersed in UPW. That is not coincidence!!! While I’m confident that our friendship will survive it, sometimes you just need your friends close enough to touch them, get those hugs you need, etc. And this one, this one is tough. But I trust and know that it is necessary for where God is leading me next.

This pressure cooker of change in recent weeks has brought on unimaginable clarity for me that I’ve been seeking for years. Stories that I wrote for myself that have limited me. Focusing on the wrong things. Finding exactly what emotion will motivate me and attaching it to what I need to focus on. And the belief in unlimited possibilities in what is ahead eagerly waiting for my arrival.

Normally, the Pathfinder newsletter is seen only by subscribers. But the first one to go out each month, I make public. So, if you’ve stumbled on to this and not currently a subscriber, I invite you now to become a FREE subscriber.

I did forget to prepare you that in addition to my weekly newsletter, you will receive my first of the month blog post directly in your inbox. Any other posts will be in a reading list on my newsletter. But the first of the month, I’d like to shake up routine a bit ha! So, my apologies if that extra inbox reading from me took you by surprise.

Burnout and I are old, familiar friends. While I don’t look forward to seeing Burnout on life’s dance card, I at least know how this dance will go. Luckily, I’ve built up my resilience quotient in recent years, so bouncing back from Burnout doesn’t take as long as it used to & I get to move on to the next dance partner: Create…

I haven’t been actively reading much this week because I’m going through a daily journey to prepare me for UPW in March. I’m also working on my book on Identity so I can get it out into the world. Check out my home page and on the right hand side you should see a blog roll of sorts. I will be building this as I go - but there are some great midlife bloggers there waiting to be read. Also, the links in the February 1st post above, there are links to some wonderful posts at the end of that for further reading as well.

I have some fun news next week and probably more info on my book release! So, stay tuned. I am on a trial of a yet - to - be -released -or -named product for menopause and I have to say that I’m blown away right now by what its doing for me already. So, I will bring you an update on that after my first full week on it.

Don’t forget to checkout the Family Storyteller System. I will be re-working that page and the catalyst group opportunity will go away that includes the concierge done for you services at no extra charge. There are still seats left for the catalyst group. The group will go for a year as we explore all of the stories we want to tell from season to season from holiday to holiday from milestone to milestone.

I want to forever remind you that your story matters. Your life is a book of stories. Stories are life’s souvenirs. Your midlife stories - they don’t define your book. You get to create and determine the storyline. Have a great week! May you be blessed a thousand times over!

And when your story changes, just roll with it. That’s usually when it really starts getting good!

I’m sorry to hear your friend is moving. It’s so difficult to lose a support system and confidant. I know when my BFF moved on the opposite side of the country it was very difficult.

Yes, stories do matter more now then ever. Telling a good story can be hard. Thanks for this.
